At The Place To Stay, it’s not just the views and cosy rooms that make your visit memorable – it’s the friendly faces you’ll meet along the way. Our farm is home to a wonderful mix of curious, charming, and sometimes cheeky animals who bring life and character to Knoll Hill Farm. From elegant black swans gliding across the pond to inquisitive rheas roaming the paddocks, our residents love making new friends. Come and say hello – we think you’ll fall in love with them just like we have.

Say hello Basil and Mint, our strikingly elegant rheas! These large, flightless birds roam our paddocks with grace and curiosity. With their soft white feathers and inquisitive nature, they are always a fascinating sight to see. Whether they’re foraging in the fields or stretching their long legs, they bring a sense of the wild to our peaceful farm.

Our geese and ducks are the true personalities of the farm—chatty, social, and always ready to make their presence known. They love waddling around by the pond, greeting visitors with their honks and quacks. Whether they’re swimming or foraging, they add a lively charm to the farm atmosphere.

The truly special residents of Knoll Hill Farm, our rare black swans glide elegantly across the water, bringing an air of mystery and beauty. Their striking dark feathers and graceful movements make them a must-see during your stay. Their names match their mysterious nature, Moon, Sun and Shine.

No countryside retreat is complete without a loyal canine companion—luckily, we have two! Our wonderful dogs, Dylan and Dougal love exploring the farm, and keeping an eye on everything that happens. With their playful energy and affectionate nature, they bring warmth and joy to every stay.

Our two beautiful horses, Red and Midnight Magic, add a touch of elegance to Knoll Hill Farm. Whether they’re grazing peacefully in the fields or trotting across the paddocks, they are a wonderful sight. They bring a sense of tranquility and grace to the farm.

Our free-range chickens roam the farm, happily scratching the ground and providing fresh eggs. They’re a delight to watch as they peck and cluck their way around, adding to the authentic farm experience. The eggs then make their way into your breakfast in the morning!
